Ace Soren has one goal: become a Gear Hunter like his mother was and defend Astren from mist monsters.
Passing his Trials is the first step. Everyone successful is given their first piece of Gear.
Ace receives… a stone. Arcana.
No one knows what it does. The Guild doesn’t consider it Gear, and without Gear, he can’t join.
But Ace refuses to let his dream die before it begins.
When a shortage of Guild members forces Astren to send its newest recruits on a monster raid, Ace talks his way onto the expedition alongside his best friend, Teo.
It should have been a routine hunt.
Instead, Teo falls through the forest floor into a maze of tunnels. Ace jumps in after him, only to discover a forgotten prison sealed over a century ago to contain a boss monster no one could kill.
Now trapped below the surface, Ace must uncover the secret of his mysterious Arcana, grow stronger through the Gear System, and find his way home before the ancient nightmare devastates the region once more.
