Fresh off the back of their last investigation, DI Duke Lyons and DS Annie Lockley have been temporarily assigned to cold cases as punishment.
Lyons wants to use the opportunity to secretly investigate his missing friend Davy Lee, but his new DCI disagrees, instead ordering them to investigate two missing teenage boys who vanished without a trace 15 years ago.
At first, it seems like another dead-end cold case, passed down to teach the errant detectives a lesson in humility, until Lyons uncovers a link between the boys and his friend, Davy. Could the cases be linked?
As the threads unravel, the case takes a turn when one of the boys’ remains are uncovered on land owned by none other than Lyons’s sworn nemesis, Jeremy Jenkins.
Lyons finds himself in a race against time to uncover the truth and finally bring Jenkins to justice, one way or another, before he evades it once again.
